Lucknow: Committed to the successful organization of Mahakumbh 2025, the state government is focusing on the plan to take advantage of the valuable experiences and guidance of senior officials who have made commendable contributions in the Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh Melas in the past.
In this direction, an important workshop was organized at Yojana Bhawan, Uttar Pradesh Secretariat, in which senior officials along with sharing their experiences also gave important suggestions for the successful organization of Mahakumbh to be held in 2025.
Principal secretaries of various departments, secretaries, fair officers, Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj, and other chief officers were present in this workshop organized under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra.
Senior officials shared experiences
Jeevesh Nandan, who was the Mela Adhikari of Kumbh Mela 2001, underlined the importance of dividing the Mela into Project Phase and Operation Phase as well as getting the support of stakeholders like Akhara Parishad for efficient organization of Mahakumbh.
Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi gave a presentation on Kumbh Mela 2013, in which he highlighted the importance of disaster management, air ambulance, efficient management of public transport as well as adhering to the deadlines of infrastructure projects. Principal Secretary, Tourism/Culture Department, Mukesh Meshram stressed the need to promote circuit tourism and spiritual tourism.
In the context of security and traffic management, Dr. S.N. Sabat shared his experiences from the Kumbh Mela 2019, in which he discussed the importance of policing. Apart from this, Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal joined through virtual medium and shared his important suggestions for Mahakumbh.
Mahakumbh will become safe, convenient and memorable
Appreciating the preparations made by all the departments, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra laid special emphasis on making Mahakumbh green and smart. He gave guidelines to ensure cleanliness and hygiene and urged the residents of Prayagraj to pay special attention to cleanliness. Also called for guidance of central teams for efficient implementation of various missions. At the conclusion of the workshop, the speakers were honored with mementos by the Chief Secretary. This workshop will help ensure that Kumbh Mela 2025 is a safe, convenient and memorable experience for devotees, pilgrims and tourists.
Mahakumbh will be organized in 4000 hectares.
Earlier in the workshop, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, Amrit Abhijat gave the welcome address and made a detailed presentation of the outline of Mahakumbh 2025. He told that this Mahakumbh Mela, to be organized in 4000 hectares, will have 67,000 street lights, 1,45,000 toilets, more than 1500 signage boards, monitoring through more than 2300 cameras, facilities like AI-based chat bot, 2000 tents, 25,000 public 30 pontoon bridges will be included with accommodation. Besides, 1,49,620 saplings will also be planted in view of environmental protection.
